Brian Lopes has ridden a lot of bikes in his long and illustrious career. He's a multi-time National Champion, World Champion and World Cup champion. I photographed him with his 29er when he dropped by our studio earlier this year for our "Inside the Pros' Bikes" feature on him. Since then, Brian has been riding a 27.5 bike as well. So I called him on the phone this week to find out what bike he's riding now. "Today I was doing intervals, so I was using my 26-inch hardtail, which I also use on dirt jumps and the pump track. I use the 27.5 for riding and testing new products, and I have the 29er set up as an enduro bike right now." In the recent Kamikaze Games at Mammont Mountain, Brian says he rode the 29er on the Kamikaze course, and the 27.5 in the other races. Says Brian, "I ride all three. It all depends on who I'm riding with and what kind of riding we're doing."
