Chris Eatough (right) sits stoically in defeat, while the medics attend to the guy who beat him. The year was 2006. Eatough had been hoping to win his seventh consecutive 24-Hours of Adrenalin Mountain Bike World Championship, but Australia's Craig Gordon had plans of his own. Gordon took the win, but he had to be taken to a hospital and put on dialysis for two days, vowing never to race such an event again.
