Aaron Gwin is the top rider in the 2014 KMC Chain Southridge Winter Series
at Fontana, with a second-place (behind Kevin Aiello) in the first event and a win in the second one. Gwinny's been riding his 2013 Specialized Demo 8
, but says he'll be debuting a new downhill race bike in March. One thing for sure, it won't be a 29er. Will it be a 27.5 model? Aaron would not confirm, but Specialized rider Brad Benedict was reportedly seen last year at Port Angeles, Washington, racing a Demo 8 that had been modified to accept 27.5-inch wheels. Interesting indeed.
