The focus of the Whistler
Mountain Bike Park product survey part three is bikes. We limit the survey
to 100 riders so it is unlikely that we count the same rider twice and we only counted bike brands, not bike models (maybe we can do that next). This one was a little harder than our fork and helmet surveys because there happens to be a lot of brands represented on the mountain. Here is how the numbers stacked up.
Brand...Out of 100 Whistler Riders
Banshee...1
Cannondale...1
Intense...1
Iron Horse...1
Morewood...1
Nukeproof...1
Pivot...1
Zenith...1
Devinci...2
GT...2
Yeti...2
Santa Cruz...3
Unknown*...6
Giant...7
Norco...7
Trek...7
Kona...9
Transition...11
Rocky Mountain...13
(*We know most downhill bikes even without graphics, but these unknowns were either hand-made bikes or they were flown in from far-off lands because we couldn't translate what was stamped on the downtubes.)
And the winner of today's survey and the most popular bike brand on the mountain is (a drum roll please)....
Specialized with a grand total of 23.
By the way, that is
Curtis Keene rocking the new SRAM XX1 (11-speed drivetrain) off The Top Of The World at Whistler.
