Camelbak Agent

Big gulps eh?

The $140 Agent is CamelBak’s latest creation designed for the needs of all-mountain and gravity riders. If your idea of an epic ride involves the possibility of sleeping under the stars, or if you want added protection on the descent but don’t want to wear it all on the climb, the Agent wants to be your travel agent.

Tech Features: The Agent comes with a 3-quart Antidote reservoir that features a very low profile so it doesn’t bunch up in your pack. The reservoir has a quick disconnect hose with a neoprene sleeve for insulation and built-in hooks to allow for easy drying. The Agent can carry a full- face or cross-country helmet during shuttle runs. There are loops on the bottom for carrying armor, so you can ride to the top and pad up. Two fleece-lined pockets make sure your sunglasses or goggles don’t get scratched. A medium-size pocket on the back allows for easy organization of your wallet, keys and phone. A large clamshell main pocket has plenty of space for tubes, tools, pumps, and a jacket in case the weather throws you a curve ball. The back panel features venting, a pocket up on the shoulder straps is great for a phone or some extra Gu. The Agent comes in three colors: purple, black, and orange. Contact CamelBak at (800) 767-8725.

Field Test Results: You are either going to love or hate the Agent’s wild colors. Search and Rescue will not have any trouble finding you in the forest—even at night. The reservoir is easy to use and slide into the pack. We found that washing it a few times before using it got rid of the new plastic taste. From a functional standpoint, this pack rocks. The pockets are intelligently designed and make sense. The helmet and armor carrying systems worked flawlessly. Much like height adjustable seatposts, this pack changed our riding habits a bit. We found ourselves more inclined to throw a set of knee pads and goggles in on a ride with a rowdy, dusty descent. Get to the top, lower your seat and gear up for some Super D practice. The inside of the pockets are a bright fluorescent yellow color, which makes finding stuff easier. The vented back-plate is awesome on hot days. That added airflow is very welcome. We traveled with this pack all summer up the West Coast and were absolutely stoked with it. If you have always wished for more cargo space for your epic rides but didn’t want the bulk of a giant backpack, the Agent will meet your carrying and hydration needs.
