April Rider Photos: Crash n’ Burns

This month’s Trail Mix has a simple theme. Each image was preceded by the phrase, “Watch this.”

HOW TO CRASH

Great series of photos of me wrecking at Mammoth Mountain on the Shotgun trail. This was my forth time riding the log and I wanted some pictures so of course I wrecked.

NEVER GIVE UP

Staying clipped in to the end.  This was taken on the Winsor Trail in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

FACE PLANT

My son, Hudson is 11 years old and races in a category with no age limits. His determination and commitment to mountain biking has propelled him to a 1st placed series finish this year. After this washout with the resulting bloody elbows, knees, and a black eye, he still managed to finish the race.  I’m so proud of him.

I DIDN’T CRASH

I was riding in Switzerland close to the mount of Bernina when a ding in my DT Swiss 5.1 provoked this funny spectacle. Lucky me the tube only came out after I stopped.
Marc Nikles
Hofstetten, Switzerland

OFF CAMBER

Caught this racer as he found the limits of his tires. Bet he wishes he were wearing gloves right about now.
Stan Lendley
Pasadena, California

I MEANT TO DO THAT

Proof that wearing Mountain Bike Action shorts doesn’t protect you from falling over. Don’t worry. The only thing hurt was my pride.
Steve Johnson
Flagstaff, Arizona
Those shorts are all sold out except for size small. (800) 767-0345.
