100% AIRCRAFT 2 HELMET REVIEW
A FIVE STAR FULL FACE MOUNTAIN BIKE HELMET
100% AIRCRAFT 2 HELMET REVIEW
Tech features
100%’s second-generation Aircraft full face mountain bike helmet features a lightweight carbon-fiber shell, an integrated injection-molded chin-bar, and multi-density EPS foam. It also utilizes 100%’s proprietary Smartshock rotational protective system that uses 14 elastomers claimed to compress and absorb impact, as well as offer rotational impact protection. There are 20 ventilation ports, an adjustable visor with goggle stowage, a D-ring buckle closure, and a moisture-wicking anti-microbial suede liner that is washable.
Field test results
Two things you’ll notice right off the bat when wearing this helmet are its light weight and excellent ventilation. Airflow is superb relative to other full-featured downhill helmets in its class. Optional liner, cheek and base-of-skull pads really let us dial in the fit perfectly. Still, the liner is not quite as plush-feeling as a result, but it’s one of the few that we are willing to pedal in for any length of time. The eyeport is large, fitting many different goggles and offering a wide field of view. The chin bar is rubber padded on the inside and sits far enough away from most faces to provide good airflow. Seven large ports further enhance that airflow. From downhill to park to enduro riding and racing, the Aircraft 2 rates high on the wrecking crew’s list. Fun fact: Reece Wilson wore this helmet when he won the 2020 World Champion title.
