Timed Downhill Qualifiers from Les Gets World Cup

TIMED DOWNHILL QUALIFIERS FROM
LES GETS WORLD CUP

The timed qualifying runs in downhill took place at the Les Gets, France World Cup. France’s Amaurry Pierron, the 2018 World Cup series champion, was the top qualifier among the men, with reigning world champion and current World Cup points leader Loic Bruni in second.
Luca Shaw was the top American in the men’s category, in 12th place, with fellow American Dakotah Norton in 13th. America’s Aaron Gwin is home in the U.S., recovering a stressed  shoulder suffered in a practice run crash at last weekend’s race.

  In the Elite Women’s category today, Tracey Hannah of Australia was the top qualifier, with Marine Caribou of France next. The top American was Samantha Soriano, in 21st place. The highest ranking by any American in the qualifiers today was in the Junior Women’s category, where America’s Anna Newkirk placed second, right behind Valentina Holl of Austria.

Among the Junior Men, Thibaut Daprela of France was the fastest rider in the timed qualifying round, with Seth Sherlock of Canada next fastest. Joey Foresta and Matthew Sterling placed highest among the Americans, coming in seventh and eighth in their qualifiers today.
