FOX US OPEN OF MOUNTAIN BIKING STARTS THIS THURSDAY IN NEW ENGLAND
Free to attend and watch epic pro MTB competition in Killington, Vermont
September 13, 2022 (KILLINGTON, VT) – The Fox US Open of Mountain Biking has released its event schedule for racing this weekend at Killington Resort, September 15-18. Athletes will kick off the epic competition on Thursday, September 15, with the Bike Park remaining open to the public, while racers begin preparing for the Open Downhill event. Known as a true family-friendly mountain bike festival, this event is free to attend and watch. Visitors will enjoy the excitement of the competition among some of the biggest names in the sport and the incredible experiences Killington Resort has to offer.

Open Downhill
The Downhill Track will start off the top of Ramshead and will include sections of the existing trail “Goat Skull” combined with new sections specially built for the 2022 US Open. Open Class racers will take seeding runs on Saturday, September 17 from 2:15 – 4:30 pm. Racers will compete in the finals on Sunday, September 18 at 12:15 pm for the cash purse prize of $15,000.

Next Gen Downhill
US Open NEXT GEN racing is designed for athletes under 15 years old. This program starts on a separate, youth-specific downhill track with categories beginning at 5 years old and advances all the way to the brand-new Cat 1 13-14 years-old classes on the main USO Downhill Track. Next Gen Novice categories will race Sunday morning on the “Rabbit Hole” trail at 10:30 a.m.
Dual Slalom
Get ready for some loose and rowdy racing with this traditional-style track located right in the main venue, alongside the Best Whip jumps. Anyone can enter the Open class and race for the cash. Designed for athletes competing on their normal trail bikes to slalom specialists, racers will qualify ahead of the Dual Slalom finals on Friday, September 16 at 4:30 pm.
Enduro
The Enduro race will include 5 stages of racing, consisting of some classic Killington tracks when the race begins at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 17. A good balance of lift access and climbing transfers is sure to put racers to the test.
Adaptive Downhill
Fox US Open of Mountain Biking is once again partnering with Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports to bring the US Open Adaptive Downhill Race to Killington Resort. The 2022 US Open Adaptive Downhill Track will start off the top of Snowshed Peak on the “Rabbit Hole” trail on Sunday, September 18 at 10:30 am.
Red Bull Best Whip, Presented by YT Industries
This crowd favorite will be more spectator friendly than ever, taking place right in the main Ramshead venue on an all-new set of jumps built specifically for the USO. Come party with Red Bull & YT Industries while some of the most stylish athletes in the biz put on a show! Invited athletes will compete on Saturday, September 17 at 5:00 pm.

Spectators will have amazing views of top athletes competing for the largest prize purse yet of $80,000.
