First Look: Aaron Gwin’s 29″/27.5″-Wheeled DH Bike

Aaron Gwin will race a 29" front and 27.5" rear wheel at the 2019 World Championships

Aaron Gwin posted these photos to his social meda accounts to show off his custom-built prototype Intense M279 race bike. See what Gwin had to say about his new machine and marvel at his photos below.

The custom 279 link allows Gwin to run a smaller 27.5″ wheel in the rear. Up front, Gwin will be running a 29″ wheel.

It looks like Kenda and Gwin have been working together to develope new downhill race tires.

We made it to World Champs! 🇺🇸Starting practice on the new ride today. Had some meetings with the @intensecycles team after Andorra and decided to try a few tweaks on the #m29. @jeffsteber got this thing welded up and built in about a month. We got everything put together last week and I was able to ride it 3 days before we arrived here. So far I’m really liking it, excited to get it on this beast of track for practice later today and continue learning. Big thanks to my whole team for workin so hard to make this happen. Ya never know until ya try! 👨‍🔧 @juanhall
