FIRST LOOK: ROTOR’S NEW INSPIDER MOUNTAIN BIKE POWER METER

Lighter and more compatible than ever.

Rotor’s new INspider MTB power meter has been redesigned for both lighter weight and durability. It’s made with 7075-T6 aeronautical aluminum with a profile that is just 1mm thick and has a weight reduction of 32% compared to the previous version, coming in at a claimed 105 grams for the power meter assembly. When paired with KAPIC and KAPIC Carbon cranks, Rotor says it’s one of the lightest options available on the market.

The power meter has measurements on both legs by sectors, which Rotor says provides accurate data (+-1.5%), even with its oval Q RINGS with accurate values at temperatures ranging from -20 C to 50 C.

The INspider MTB power meter should be compatible with most frames on the market, making it easy to integrate into an existing setup. With a BCD 100×4 bolt pattern, it allows for the use of chainrings as small as 30 teeth, which provides a wide range of flexibility in gearing. The previous INspider version could only run a minimum of 34-tooth chainrings because of its 110×4 bolt pattern, so this is a nice improvement.

The power meter has an IP67 certification, making it resistant to dust, water, and mud, and suitable for all types of weather and conditions.  It also features connectivity to ANT+TM and Bluetooth Smart, which makes it easy to connect to various devices. A rechargeable battery offers a claimed 350 hours of riding time.
