JACOB JEWETT AT LEOGANG

Sick action from the World Cup downhill race

One of the coolest photos we’ve seen from last weekend’s World Cup event at Leogang was this one of Canadian downhill racer Jacob Jewett of the Canyon Cllctv team. The photo came to us in a press release about the race from Maxxis.

Maxxis didn’t identify the rider or the photographer, so we went online to comb through the results for the race to see which rider had the number 150 on his plate. It turned out it was Jacob Jewett, who took 51st place. We then checked out Jewett’s Instagram page to make sure it was really him. Sure enough, Jake was sharing a photo of himself of that same jump on his Instagram page. As he revealed in his post, Jake said he “crashed out” in the finals, which explains why he didn’t place very high, but we still give him credit for one of the coolest photos from Leogang and hope to see more of him in the future. Here’s what Jewett said of his photo of the jump on his Instagram page:

I was hoping to finish the week on a high, but unfortunately crashed out in finals. Overall still a good week, bike feels great, body is healthy, and the pace is getting there. Keep working, and build onto the next ones! Thanks for all the work crew 🙏@canyon_cllctv
