“This was the day I officially arrived. Lots of attempts, blood, sweat, and tears, Kamikaze was finally mine.”
– Myles Rockwell

The year was 1995, and the infamous Kamikaze Downhill was celebrating its 10th year running. Due to a record snowfall that year, tractor crews had to carve a 10-foot channel in the snow near the bottom of the course in order to run the race. It was also the year 22-year-old Myles Rockwell blistered the competition with a final time of 4:33.27 and a top speed of 57 miles an hour. Today Myles is involved with 303dirt.com. They offer bike skills clinics and camps for youth, ages 6-16, at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, Colorado.
