THROWBACK THURSDAY: KATERINA NASH WINS WORLD CUP RACE AT MONT-SAINTE-ANNE—10 YEARS AGO THIS WEEK

Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, August 10, 2013

Team Luna’s Katerina Nash was on her way to winning the Elite Women’s Cross-Country race in the World Cup event at Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, on August 10, 2013, when we shot this photo. Katerina won a total of eight World Cup XC races in her mountain bike career. What may be even more remarkable is that she competed in five different Olympic Games—three times as a mountain biker in the Summer Olympics—1996 (when she placed 19th), 2012 (when she placed 14th) and 2016 (when she finished fifth)—and two other times as a cross-country skier in the Winter Olympics (in 1998 and 2002). Katerina was born and raised in the Czech Republic before she moved to the U.S., attended college, and then stayed in the U.S. to pursue a career as a professional mountain biker.
