AMERICANS DOMINATE PAN AMERICAN GAMES XCC RACES

The Pan American Games Short Track Cross-Country race, the XCC event, proved to be one of the most exciting events of the weekend. The Elite Men’s event came down to a sprint between Americans Christopher Blevins and Riley Amos, with Riley Amos (the U23 rider) beating Blevins by a fraction of a second in the sprint to the finish, with both of them recording the same official time, with the winner determined by whose front wheel crossed the finish line first.

In the Elite Women’s XCC race, Haley Batten took the top spot; with Kate Courtney, second; Bailey Cioppa, third; and Makena Kellerman, fourth

Last month, Savilia Blunk finished 2nd and 3rd in the first two World Cup XCO events of 2024, which took place in Brazil. Blink is pretty much guaranteed a spot on the U.S. Olympic team this summer, thanks to the high ranking of the U.S. Women’s cross-country team in the Olympic points rankings, which should guarantee that the U.S. will get to have two women on the U.S. Olympic mountain bike team this summer, and Blunk is ranked very high in the international points rankings.

Below are the results from the Pan American Games XCC events that were held at the Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway, Utah:
