Q: I currently have a 2013 Giant Anthem X29er and have been in the market for a new bike. I’m happy with the bike, but it’s getting beat. I tried a YT Jeffsey 29er, but it was too much bike for my local trails. I was looking at the Sniper, and it looks like a great bike. I ride aggressively but want an all-around, light, fast bike for crushing KOMs. Do you think the Blur will be a better option?
A: Sounds like you’re getting to ride some pretty sweet and capable bikes. Have you looked into the new Giant Anthem Advanced 29? We tested one of those last summer, and it was a good ride. The 27.2mm seatpost makes it tough to find a dropper post, but overall the bike was solid.
In regards to the Sniper, it is a fun bike to ride that is lightweight and can climb just about anything. The Blur is a good bike; the suspension platform is very efficient! We have zero concerns on the durability of the bike. The frame tubing is pretty burly.
