Ask MBAction: Homemade Formula

Homemade Formula

Question:

I have a friend who claims that adding small chunks of rubber to his tubeless sealant helps seal punctures better than the original formula. Do you think this is true?

Answer:

That’s an interesting idea and something we have seen in some tire sealants already on the market. As far as adding it to a formula that has already been optimized to seal punctures, we’re not sure it’s necessary. Tire sealant companies extensively test their products to perform at their best, so we would leave it up to them to decide what magical ingredients will work. However, it might be worth a try. Let us know what happens.
