Mountain Bike Action Bike Hacks: Add Power to Your Multi-Tool
Best Bike Hacks: Add Power to Your Multi-Tool
Small multi-tools are convenient but lack the leverage needed to loosen stubborn, stuck bolts—like pedals and rear axles.
Next time you’re on the trail and get in a bind, literally, use this handy tip to increase the power of you multi-tool:
Step 1: Realize a small multi-tool provides little leverage/power.
Step 2: Remove the thru-axle from your fork.
Step 3: Extend an unused Allen key from the multi-tool.
Step 4: Slide thru-axle over the extended Allen key of your multi-tool.
Step 5: Remove the pedal with ease—thanks to increased leverage.
