Canyon Spectral:ON CF 9
The good news for anyone reading the test on the Canyon Spectral and who thinks it would be the perfect bike—if only it had some extra power on tap for the long climbs—is that the bike you’re thinking about already exists!
The e-Spectral relies on the highly anticipated Shimano pedal-assist system with a 630-Wh battery with 85 N/m of torque, which, in addition to supplying extra power up to 20 mph, will also help push you to try some insanely steep climbs you haven’t tried before.
The components on the CF 9 are as top-of-the-line as it gets with a full Shimano XTR groupset, including brakes and drivetrain with a 12-speed (10-51) cassette.
The 150mm Fox suspension kit is equally impressive starting with the Fox Float DPX2 Factory shock and Fox 36 Grip2 fork. Even the Fox Transfer dropper seatpost enjoys the smooth surface of the Kashima coating.
Keep in mind this is the $9000 build, but Canyon also offers three other lower-priced models at $6999 and $5999, along with a $5999 women’s option.
