ELITE DOWNHILL RESULTS AND STANDINGS FROM LEOGANG WORLD CUP

We included the downhill team results and team standings at the end, too

Loic Bruni of France and Vali Höll of Austria took the wins in the Elite Men’s and Women’s downhill races this past weekend in Leogang, Austria.

Both Bruni and Höll look like they’re on their way to being the World Cup series champions this year if things keep going the way they’ve gone so far. Both have sizable leads in the point standings to date, which are included below.

America’s Luca Shaw took seventh in the Elite Men’s finals, but he’s now ranked second in the Elite Men’s Downhill standings for this year, thanks to how consistent he’s been in the races so far.

American Anna Newark took second in the Elite Women’s Downhill at Leogang, riding for Evan Turpen’s Contra Bikes. She’s currently ranked fifth in this year’s Elite Women’s downhill points standings.

The battle for the top downhill team of the year is currently being led by Specialized, who have a big lead right now, thanks to Loic Bruni and Finn Iles taking first and second in the Elite Men’s final this past weekend.

Still, only three World Cup downhill events have been held so far this year, with five more to come, so it will be interesting to see how the other teams do in the remaining events.
