The Elite Men’s and Women’s Cross-Country Short Track races took place late in the day on Friday, August 3oth, in Andorra.

(Above) Great Britain’s Evie Richards won the Elite Women’s Short Track event on Friday, August 30th, at the 2024 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships.

Americans Gwendalyn Gibson, Kate Courtney and Savilia Blunk were the top racers for the United States, placing fifth, seventh and eighth in the race.

Noticeably absent was Haley Batten, who had won the silver medal in the women’s XC race at this year’s Olympics.

ELITE WOMEN’S XCC RESULTS

VICTOR KORETZKY WINS THE ELITE MEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY SHORT-TRACK 

Victor Koretzky made up for some of his disappointment after losing the Olympic gold medal in Paris last month by winning the Short-Track race at the World Championships today.

Tom Pidcock, who won the Olympic gold medal last month, as well in the 2020 Olympics (held in Japan in 2021), finished  eighth today. America’s Christopher Blevins finished fourth today. He was the only American in the Elite Men’s Short Track race.

Nino Schurter did not compete in the race today.
