FASTHOUSE SPEED STYLE ROWEN GLOVE REVIEW
Tech features:
We always associate a certain style with Fasthouse products, and their Speed Style Rowen gloves are no exception. These gloves feature a dyed twill span, a Clarino leather palm, reinforced Clarino thumb guard, expanding knuckle gussets and a touchscreen fingerprint. It’s a well-put-together glove that closes with a simple Velcro tab.
A checkerboard silicone grip design is printed on the vented leather pointer and middle fingers to help lever grip. A rubber Fasthouse logo is attached to the top side of the pointer finger to complete the silkscreen art, indicating the name of the glove together with a checkerboard pattern. They are offered in red, cream and dust olive colors.
Field test results:
There’s a certain quality to these gloves that makes them a pleasure to wear. It’s more fashion than function that drives us to keep grabbing these gloves off the shelf when heading out for a ride. That said, the Speed Style Rowen gloves are incredibly comfortable and stay on very well in all conditions. They’re not the light, air-like gloves that many of the wrecking crew prefer, and they don’t breathe nearly as well as a lot of gloves on the market, but they’re just nice to wear.
Our fall and early winter riding was primarily done wearing these gloves, and that’s where they really proved themselves useful. Even though they’re not as light and airy as some, the seamless, vented, leather palm was thin enough to give the feedback we enjoy feeling through the grips. A final note on these gloves is the excellent touchscreen compatibility, which is probably the best of any glove we’ve used this year.
