Find Me A Bike On A Budget
It has been quite some time since we have done a budget-bike shootout. We are certainly overdue and will start ordering bikes for this. At that price point, you would likely be looking at an aluminum-framed bike with either full suspension or just front suspension. Marin’s San Quentin 2 can be had for under $1500 and was liked by many of our test riders. If you’re willing to spend a little more, we think you would like Marin’s Rift Zone 1, which is only $100 over your budget but would offer a softer ride down the trails. We tested the same frame with higher-end components and you check out the full bike test here.

Mountain Bike Action is a monthly magazine devoted to all things mountain biking (yes, that’s 12 times a year because we never take a month off of mountain biking). It has been around since 1986 and we’re still having fun.
