First Look: Fox Racing Rampage Pro Carbon Helmet

A new downhill and freeride full face helmet from Fox Racing

The latest full face helmet from Fox Racing was designed with direct input from it’s sponsored downhill and freeride athletes to offer the highest level of protection, performance and style. The Rampage Pro Carbon (RPC)  features Dual-density, in-mold varizorb EPS foam combined with a MIPS liner is designed to redirect rotational impact forces and distribute them over a wider area. Fox’s Magnetic Visor Release System is designed for a low threshold of breakaway force for even more rotational stability during a crash.

The RPC’s lightweight carbon shell features mesh covered vents to let air and keep debris or biting bugs out. A plush removable and washable moisture wicking liner made of X-Static material are antimicrobial to manage odor because nobody wants to sit next to a stinker on the chairlift.

The Rampage Pro Carbon meets Meets EN 1078, CPSC 1203, AS/NZS 2063, and ASTM F1952 standards. It retails for $500 and is available in Dark Indigo Navy, Black/Teal, White, and  Atomic Punch Orange colors.

We received a size large for testing that weighed in at 1,260 grams on the incredibly accurate Mountain Bike Action scales. The interior is plush and the fit on the snug side for a size large. Even large framed goggles like Oakley Airbrakes appear to fit well inside the helmet. Look for a review in an upcoming issue of Mountain Bike Action. Look for all Fox athletes competing at the World Championships to be wearing the new RPC, including Loic Bruni, Tahnee Seagrave, Jackson Goldstone, and Laurie Greenland.
