FIRST LOOK: NUKEPROOF’S NEW LIGHTWEIGHT SUMMER APPAREL
Belfast, Ireland isn’t known for its inviting winter weather, so the team from Nukeproof headed south to Dolceaqua, Italy with two of their young French Enduro riders to give their new Blackline apparel range a proper test. Boasted as their “premium technical apparel line”, the new collection features long and short-sleeve jerseys, shorts, and pants as well as other accessories.
Blackline Long-sleeve/Short-sleeve Jersey:
The Blackline Jersey is Nukeproof’s new lightweight offering that is constructed from a highly breathable fabric and yarn that maintains a soft feel against the skin. The mono-stretch picquet fabric on the front allows moisture to wick away and helps to regulate the rider’s core temperature while providing unrestricted movement and is abrasion resistant. The back panel features an even lighter-weight fabric that provides maximum airflow and venting, and the whole garment has an anti-bacterial finish and is UV resistant. The Blackline jersey is available in Men’s, Women’s, and Youth sizes with a wide range of colors and styles.
Blackline Trail Pants:
Made from a durable and abrasion and water-resistant 4-way stretch fabric, Nukeproof’s award-winning pant is back with new colors for the Summer. They are designed with year-round riding and breathability in mind, with laser-cut holes to help in ventilation and feature a slim fit with adequate room for knee pads. While being breathable, the Blackline pants are still very durable with flat-lock and triple stitching as well as YKK zippers and fastenings. Adjustable waist tabs and strategically placed silicone panels ensure they stay in place and fit riders that fall in-between sizes. The Blackline Trail Pant is available in Men’s (Black, Stone, Atlantic Blue), Women’s, and youth sizes (Black only).
Blackline Trail Shorts:
Sharing design highlights and fabrics from the Trail Pants, the Blackline Trail Shorts are slated to be the short of choice for warm-weather riding. They feature an integrated dual-density chamois liner (shorts only) that is designed for a 3-5 hour ride time and an inseam that is designed to be worn with knee pads without leaving a gap. The Blackline Trail Shorts are offered in the same sizes and colors as the pants, with Women’s sizes featuring a female-specific chamois liner and no liner in the Youth sizes.
Blackline Windproof Jacket:
Because summer isn’t always warm and sunny, Nukeproof included a lightweight, breathable, and packable windproof jacket in their apparel lineup. Designed to be a thin layer on windy days or as temperatures drop in the high alpine, the jacket features elastic cuffs, ventilation under the arms, branded YKK zippers, and a DWR finish to ward off the occasional summer rain shower. When the jacket is no longer needed, it conveniently packs down into the chest pocket for easy storage. The Blackline Windproof Jacket is available in unisex sizes and three color options (Arona, Rhubarb, and Black).
Blackline Microbaffle Jacket:
In addition to the Windproof Jacket, the new Blackline Microbaffle Jacket features PrimaLoft insulation and is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. Designed to be an insulating layer and protect the rider from wet weather, the jacket still packs down efficiently into the internal pocket and maintains a slim profile. Two zippered hand pockets keep essentials secure and an adjustable lower hem allows the rider to lock in as much heat as possible. Like the Windproof Jacket, it is available in unisex sizing but only one color option (Black).
Blackline Storage Bib Shorts:
All new for this summer is the addition of the Blackline Storage Bib Shorts to the Nukeproof Apparel lineup. Constructed from high-performance Miti fabric and integrated mesh panels in the legs, the bib uses an Elastic Interface MTB Performance 2 Pad that claims 7+ hours of support in the saddle. There is also no shortage of storage options, with 3 large elastic pockets located on the back of the bib and 2 smaller ones on the mesh of the legs.
Blackline Lightweight Socks:
The final piece of the lineup is the Blackline Lightweight Socks. They are made from 100% recycled Italian fabric, wick moisture quickly, and are effective in dissipating heat. They are designed with a mid-foot stretch panel to support the arch of the foot.
