ONZA’S NEW SVELT XC RACE TIRE
Onza has just released the new SVELT XC tire. This tire is barely more than a gravel tire when looking at the tread and has been developed alongside the Canis as an ideal tire for riding dry and fast terrain. Tightly spaced ramped center tread helps with low rolling resistance while slightly more defined side knobs help find traction when at speed. In between you’ll find traction supporting knobs to help the transition between the center and side knobs.
The SVELT is only offered in 29×2.3″ sizing with either a skinwall or black sidewall. Onza uses the XCC casing which has been optimized for max speed and low weight. There are two rubber compounds making up the tread on the SVELT; the 60a rubber center tread for fast rolling and low wear and the soft 45a rubber for the side knobs for increased cornering grip. Since these are XC tires, weight matters; the SVELT has a claimed weight of 820g with the black sidewalls, and 780 with the skinwall. Pricing for these new speedsters start at $70 for the black and $75 for the skinwall.
