Just in time for this weekend’s Fort William World Cup, Specialized is releasing a completely revamped Cannibal DH race tire and limited edition Gravity Butter apparel collection.

Loic Bruni, Finn Isles, and the rest of the S-Gravity Team have been quietly riding a new Cannibal tire. According to Specialized, the tire was developed with the race team to be the most advanced high-performance DH tire on the market. SPecialized says they knew that they were onto something when Loic and Finn both decided to race the Cannibal in Lourdes when any tire on the market was available to them – even a Maxxis Maxx Grip with a Sparpie’d out logo. They both ended up on the podium.

The Cannibal has been completely redeveloped utilizing Specialized’s super sticky GRIPTON T9 compound and a high-volume 2.4” casing. It is tubeless-ready and features a two-ply Grid Gravity casing construction. The new tread features staggered shoulder blocks to maximize cornering stability and large center braking blocks with wide braking edges cut in for maximum deceleration. They are available in both 29” and 27.5” sizes and retail for $80.

In addition to the new tire, Specialized is also revealing a new limited-edition apparel collection called Gravity Butter. The yellow hughed line is highlighted by the Butter Gravity Race Jersey ($100) and pants ($160) but also includes Trail Air shorts ($130), Trail Air gloves ($25), Techno MTB tall socks ($25), a New Era Cuff Beanie ($25), and short sleeve tee ($35). The line is unisex except for the Trail shorts, jersey, and gloves that come in men’s and women’s sizes. Specialized says this collection is a one-time thing that will be available until it’s gone. Check out highlights from the line below.
