Flashback Friday: Seatpost from 1989

Mountain Bike Action’s February 1989 issue had a short write-up on this spring-equipped seatpost. Was this an early version of a  suspension seatpost or a precursor to the modern-day dropper post? Apparently not. Here’s what we said about it in our February 1989 issue:  “How much easier could it get?: The calibrated numbers on SR/Sakae’s new Quickpost makes finding your correct seat height a very simple process. The frightening part is that there will undoubtedly be people who will try to use the Quickpost for its suspension qualities. Be smart—don’t be one of them!”
