Geology of Marin
An evening with Ross MacLeod.
Prepare to be amazed at the interesting geology right where we live and ride– it will be an evening of rock-solid fun and education. Ross is a lively and entertaining speaker and he’ll be rockin’ it at the museum on Thursday, May 30th. His presentation will be part geologic time machine and part local history and will include lots of photos on the big screen. Ross describes himself as “a long-standing Marin explorationist, marveling at the local terrain, on bike or on foot”. Join us for a photographic journey as we travel with him through the Marin landscape to learn about the rocks underneath our feet. Bring all your nagging metamorphic questions for the Q&A afterwards.
A Geology Ride tour (dare we say a “gravel ride”?) with Ross will accompany this talk on Sunday, June 9th, ride details and start location to be announced. This will be a free, no-drop, easy ride and will be great for ages approx 12 and up. Hope you can join us!
Tickets can be purchased in advance below. Advance tickets are also available at the Marin Museum of Bicycling (open 11-5 Thursdays-Sundays), and a limited number will be available at the door the evening of the event unless it’s sold out. Advance purchase is recommended. All proceeds benefit the Marin Museum of Bicycling. Not a member yet? Joining or renewing is easy: click here. We hope to see you Thursday evening, May 30th for
