Get Involved With Trails: Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument

Cotoni-Coast Dairies Proceeding With Plans

The Bureau of Land Management is proceeding with the Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument planning process, and it’s time for all of the public to get involved. With the publics’ help, they will be able to decide how many and what type of trails are built on this 6,000-acre property on the Santa Cruz coast. Current Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz have dug into the plans and have stellar recommendations to make the current proposals more mountain bike-friendly.

How To Make Your Voice Heard

Step 1: Visit Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz for an overview of the plans.

Step 2: Write a letter to recommend alternatives to the current proposals. Simply sign this sample letter, or use these talking points to draft a unique letter.

Step 3: Send your letter to blm_ca_cotoni_coast_dairies@blm.gov by end-of-day today, March 19th.

Step 4: Spread the word to friends to speak up for trails!

The Cotoni-Coast Dairies National Monument is about the same size as Wilder Ranch State Park and is essential in providing connectivity between the planned 30 miles of trails at San Vicente Redwoods and the coast. It also has the potential for world-class recreational access that would serve both local residents and visitors to Santa Cruz County’s North Coast.
