GULLICKSON REPLACES BROWN

Volkswagen-Trek rider Travis Brown has elected to skip this week’s World Championships in Spain. Brown, who has began racing again after breaking his left tibia at the Mazatlan, Mexico World Cup by placing fourth at the Iron Horse Classic last week, said he didn?t feel ready for the pace of the Worlds and will continue to train in preparation for later World Cups that will help him qualify for the Olympic team.
Brown’s replacement is Marc Gullickson. The Mongoose Pro rider is the current National cyclo-cross champion and he finished fifth at the Chevy Trucks NORBA National Championship Series race in Snow Summit, California last month. This is Marc’s first trip to the World Championships.
RX-Polo Sport rider Shari Kain has also said she will skip the Worlds to focus on resting up from her early season European campaign, so she will be fresh for important Olympic qualifier races.
