If you’re an avid or aspiring photographer interested in mountain biking and improving your action photography skills, here’s a workshop not to miss! Professional photographer Scott Markewitz is putting on a mountain bike photography workshop from June 16-19, 2022 in Salt Lake City, Utah in conjunction with Evo Sports.
Participants will learn through hands-on experience photographing professional mountain bikers and one-on-one interaction with Scott how to set up and create great outdoor action and lifestyle images, while experiencing the world-class trails and beautiful scenery that Salt Lake City and the surrounding area have to offer. This will be a fun and intensive program geared for photographers of all levels who want to expand their photographic knowledge, skills, and vision.
Topics to be covered include camera setup, tips for shooting outdoors,
lighting and composition, working with various lenses and perspectives,
visualizing and capturing the right moment, communicating and working with
athletes, as well as post-production workflow and image processing tips.
Day 1 – Meet for happy hour, program intro with Scott, and a slideshow of some of his favorite shots.
Day 2 – Start with breakfast at the Evo Hotel and head out to shoot at the I Street jump park. After lunch either head into the classroom for a post-production session, or back onto the trails for some riding, followed by a sunset shoot to capture some magic lighting opportunities.
Day 3 – Wake up and head to Park City for an epic morning of shooting singletracks through aspens and beautiful mountain views around Empire Pass. Enjoy lunch on the trail, followed by a fun ride down into Park City. Either spend the afternoon photographing on Scott’s Bypass trails or back at Evo Campus for image review and post-production
Day 4 – Breakfast and meet with the group one last time to review photos and share stories from the weekend before departing
