M1 & M1 EVO MTB HELMETS
The Sena M1 and M1 EVO Mountain Bike Helmets are bringing intercom communication to the mountain! Your trail ride is getting an upgrade with the all-new M1 and M1 EVO helmets, which feature a built-in communication system that allows users to speak with nearby riders. The M1 connects up to 4 nearby cyclists via Bluetooth Intercom while the M1 EVO allows an unlimited number of nearby riders to communicate with each other in a seamlessly connected Mesh network. The innovative helmets also allow for wireless smartphone connectivity so that riders can listen to music, GPS directions, take calls, and more. An integrated tail light offers improved visibility for riders. Look for Sena’s mountain bike helmet to be available early next year in three* colors.
R1 & R1 EVO
Currently, on the market, the R1 and R1 EVO have revolutionized bicycle helmet communication. The R1 features Bluetooth technology with 4 intercom connections, while the R1 EVO introduces Mesh Networking to the cycling world. Both the R1 and R1 EVO feature Bluetooth® 4.1 integration, meaning you can wirelessly pair your smartphone and take phone calls, listen to GPS directions, hear music, and even hear cues from your fitness apps.
With the Mesh Intercom integrated R1 EVO users can communicate with other riders within a half-mile (900 meters) range by connecting with the simple press of a button. Nine available channels let you switch between different chat groups on different frequencies. In addition to Mesh Intercom, the R1 EVO is also equipped with a built-in tail light for increased visibility while riding. The R1 EVO has an MSRP of $159 USD and is available in matte black and matte white. The R1 has an MSRP of $129 and is available in onyx black, electric tangerine, ice blue, matte white, and matte gray.
The X1S Bluetooth® cycling helmet improves its design from its predecessor, the X1, with a new interior shape. The interior’s ergonomic intermediate oval fit and Sena’s spin-to-fit lock enables cyclists to fine-tune the final fit of the helmet to their unique head shape. The X1S pairs to your smartphone via Bluetooth, allowing you to listen to music, hear GPS cues, and even converse over the phone. The helmet also comes with an integrated FM Radio and 4-way intercom system, allowing riders to communicate with up to three other Sena Bluetooth®-enabled devices.
Mountain Bike Action is a monthly magazine devoted to all things mountain biking (yes, that’s 12 times a year because we never take a month off of mountain biking). It has been around since 1986 and we’re still having fun.
