LIZARD SKINS MONITOR 3 SZN WINTER GLOVE REVIEW

Tech features:

Built for winter warmth and dexterity, the Monitor 3 SZN gloves are constructed with a windproof, fleece-backed material with a simple elastic cuff and terry nose wipe. Their one-piece palm is made with a water-resistant, dot-embossed, soft-touch, tacky material. They are available in any color you want, as long as it’s black.

Field test results:

These gloves offer a high-warmth-to-dexterity ratio with excellent control feel. We were able to wear them down into the high 30s, as long as the exertion effort was high. What really sets these gloves apart from others in this mid-weight class is the palm material. It is not only highly water-resistant; it remains tacky when wet. The only downside to this material is that it’s not as breathable as Clarino, which seems to let moisture escape.

Test riders appreciated the thick terry nose wipe and easy entry and removal with the simple yet highly functional elastic cuff—a good thing, because we had to remove them every time we wanted to use our phone due to the lack of a touchscreen zone. We did experience a seam failure at the thumb and palm junction after a few months of hard use, but our second pair has been trouble-free, so it may have been an anomaly or early production glitch.
