LIZARD SKINS STRATA GRIP REVIEW – UNIVERSALLY LOVED
THE "MUSHROOM" GRIP WITH A TWIST
LIZARD SKINS STRATA GRIP REVIEW
Tech features:
Grip specialists Lizard Skins’ latest design features a short-ribbed, “mushroom style” with broken, alternating orientations. At 32.25mm, Lizard Skins considers the Strata medium-large diameter grip and it’s 135mm long. It has a single inner clamp and is offered in six colors: Jet Black, Deja Blue, Candy Red, Neon Pink, Sand Tan and Lime Green.
Field test results:
Like most lock-on grips, installation is about as easy as it gets, especially with a single locking ring to deal with. Grip comfort is a highly subjective thing but these were universally loved. Even those who ride without gloves found the compound grippy and the pattern comfortable. When hands are sweaty, grip levels are still high, but the Stratas are not quite as effective as more aggressive patterns when things get really wet and sloppy. The ribbed pattern offers a high degree of vibration absorption but also makes them feel slightly smaller in diameter than they measure because the material is allowed to compress. Depending on your tastes, this can be a good or bad thing. We would love to see multiple diameters offered in the future.
