Ritcheys Logic brake pads use a trippy profile that provides easier toe-in adjustment and claims to have superior stopping force.
Key features: Ultimate stopping power is achieved when the caliper construction is sturdy enough to hold the pads flat against the rim. It turns out that most braking systems flex too much to hold this adjustment without squealing. However, the Logic pad cuts the difference between a flat and toed setting. When the pads are positioned so the front and rear edges touch flat against the brake surface, the relieved mid-profile will automatically set a 2mm toe.
Logic LP pads are available in three compounds to cover the extremes of dry to wet braking. The standard, black pad is hard; the red pad is medium and the blue pad is soft.
MBA rating: Four stars. What we liked about the Ritchey pad was that it was easy to install, automatically sets the proper toe-in and almost stops with the power of flat-pad contact. Suggested retail is $9.95. For more information call Ritchey at (650) 368-4018.
