(UPDATED) MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN OPENS CHAIRLIFT BIKE PARK ACCESS THIS WEEKEND

MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN OPENS CHAIRLIFT BIKE PARK ACCESS AND GONDOLA THIS WEEKEND

(MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN PRESS RELEASE)

After a soft opening with limited access to lower mountain trails as crews cleared snow, Mammoth’s Bike Park is set to kick off the ’24 season in earnest this weekend.

Mammoth’s Chair 2 will open for the ’24 season on Friday, offering lift access to some of the bike park’s most iconic trails. Access to the top of the mountain via the gondola is expected very shortly.

After the ’23 Bike Park season was cut short by record snow that delayed the opening of many trails until late summer, this weekend is set to be a big one. Mammoth’s Bike Park is finally back in action.

A few of the trails that’ll be open starting Friday:

  1. Brake Through (Intermediate): After traversing the Face of Five this trail weaves its way through the woods and across the ski runs underneath Roller Coaster Express (Ch 4). Expect steeper grades and faster speeds vs. our easiest rated trails along with access to some of the best trails in the park.
  2. Boomerang (Advanced): One of our newer trails, Boomerang has rapidly become a local’s favorite. Featuring manmade rock gardens, manicured berms, and a few jumps, this trail offers the perfect blend of technical downhill with a pinch of freestyle.
  3. Seven Bridges (Advanced): While a little off the beaten path, this trail is one of the more unique offerings in the park. After some flowy singletrack, you end up in lower Dry Creek, where (you guessed it), 7 bridges have been constructed allowing you to rip your way back and forth over the creek.
  4. Ricochet (Advanced): Ricochet begins from Seven Bridges and is a delightful downhill trail featuring a number of root sections, rock drops, and high-speed straight aways. Not the longest trail, but an absolute blast. And puts you close to the bottom of Chair 2.
  5. Flow (Expert): Finding your flow on this rowdy downhill trail can be one of the highlights of the day. It begins with a technical rock garden then continues the fun with root step downs, steep chutes, and the famous “Flow Drop”, a 10-foot wood-to-wood vertical drop which let’s be honest, is quite intimidating.
