New Product Discoveries: Dakine Launches All-Season Technical Apparel
Dakine Launches All-Season
Dakine launches two new all-season jackets to keep you protected during mountain missions, surf strikes and everywhere in between.
Arsenal 3L Jacket
Functional and versatile, the lightweight and tailored-fit Arsenal 3L Jacket (MSRP $210) features a soft and flexible mechanical stretch exterior for superior movement with a softshell knit backer for maximum comfort against the skin. Available in both men’s and women’s versions, the Arsenal offers premium 20k waterproof/breathability to regulate moisture and body heat inside and out. Constructed with bluesign® approved materials, the durable shell is also finished with a PFC-free DWR for a more environmentally conscious alternative to traditional fluorinated waterproof coatings. Packable into the roomy chest pocket, the Arsenal can stow easily into a backpack for grab-and-go when and where you need it. Includes adjustable hood and hem, YKK® Aquaguard® water resistant zippers and pit zips, bonded seams and hook and loop adjustable cuffs. The hood is also designed to fit over a bike helmet during downhill adventures.
For lighter weather days, the new Reserve Windbreaker (MSRP $110) for men and women is a functional and fun anorak featuring bluesign® approved ultra-lightweight stretch nylon ripstop with PU coating, and light moisture protection through the PFC-free DWR finish. The kangaroo-style secure zip hand pocket provides ample room for stashing essentials on the go while the chest pocket provides compact storage to stow the jacket when the clouds part and the weather warms up. The Reserve features helmet compatible 2-way elastic flex hood with fuss-free adjustment and back vents to help regulate heat while on the move.
Motivated by the descent, Dakine designs its MTB gear for those looking to go downhill on dirt. The expansion of the Thrillium Collection for Spring/Summer 2019 offers gravity-focused apparel and pads for superior performance and protection on every ride.
The updated Thrillium Jersey (MSRP $60-65), available in long and short sleeve versions, has a softer hand feel, looser fit, and a heavier, more durable stretch mesh construction of bluesign®-approved materials. The addition of Polygiene® odor control technology allows for extended wear without the stench. The 4-way stretch construction provides ease of movement while the cut crew neck, drop rear hem and raglan sleeves offer functional style and comfort. Also includes a hidden interior sunglass wipe.
Thrillium Pant and Short
Paired with the jersey, the all new Thrillium Pant (MSRP $160) or Thrillium Short (MSRP $120) featuring Schoeller’s ecorepel® Bio, a bluesign®- approved 4-way stretch woven with PFC-free DWR, offers a super technical kit for downhill riding. Both offer a ventilated laser perforated waist and inner thigh for maximum airflow and articulated stretch panels for full range of movement. Zippered hand and thigh pockets allow space to stash essentials, while also reducing the risk of catching on the bike. The addition of the cam- lock buckle allows for easy adjustment even while wearing gloves, and the deep shank button fly maintains added security at the waist. The double stitch construction insures long-lasting performance.
The Thrillium Pant includes flex zones in the knees, positioned to moved when worn over pads, like the new Mayhem Pad (MSRP $100). The most motion-friendly hardshell kneepad on the market, the Mayhem features a 3D-molded CURV® composite cup protection that is more durable and impact resistant than carbon fiber. The 4-way stretch AriapreneProTM perforated and breathable construction and full articulation of the upper cuff allows the pad to track with knee movement so it stays in place during motion, and won’t move during impact. The freeride-inspired pad includes a longer design on the shin to minimize pedal strikes, and also offers lateral and medial side protection with 270 degree padding. Additional features include Polygiene® odor control technology, adjustable thigh and calf straps, articulated thigh paneling, interior patella support and back of calf compression for secure fit.
The minimalist Thrillium Glove (MSRP $45) complements the kit in a lightweight, moisture wicking, 4-way stretch shell construction with Polygiene® odor control technology. Durable, tactile Pittards® goat leather palm provides comfort and maximum connection to the handlebars. The easy slip-on cuff offer comfort and ease of wear.
The Thrillium Jersey and Thrillium Glove are offered in Team Aggy colorways, signature models for team rider, Graham Agassiz.
Inspired by freeride, the Vectra Collection of all- mountain apparel and accessories is pure MTB. Comfortable and cool on the pedal up and performance-powered for the descent down, the Vectra Collection provides style and comfort without sacrificing function.
The new Vectra Jersey, available in 3/4 sleeve (MSRP $55) and short sleeve (MSRP $50) versions, offers a more tailored all- mountain fit in a bluesign® approved pinhole mesh constructed lightweight, 4-way stretch Polyester with Polygiene® odor control technology. Includes a high-V neck, drop rear hem and set sleeves for functional comfort, and chest pocket detail for added style. Includes a hidden interior sunglass wipe.
Paired with the Vectra Short (MSRP $85), a 4-way stretch bluesign® approved woven nylon with durable double-stitch construction offers a clean aesthetic with hidden full-featured tech details.
Ventilated laser perforated lumber allows airflow when worn with a hip pack, plus perforated inner thigh for increased ventilation while riding. The zippered hand and thigh pockets offer room to stash essentials, without the risk of losing them. Includes exterior waist adjusters with double snap closure for custom fit.
Complete the kit with the new Vectra Glove (MSRP $35), a lightweight, moisture wicking, 4-way stretch shell
construction with Polygiene® odor control technology. Breathable, durable, silicone mesh palm provides good dexterity and hand connection to the bars, while the slip-on cuff makes it easy to get on and off. Additional features include touch screen compatibility, silicone gripper finger and thumb for easier braking, and microfleece nose wipe.
