When does the season start?

The official start date is December 1st, and our first race is the beginning of March. In mid-November, we start the season with a skills weekend. This includes camping, games and skills training. This is a fun way to introduce new kids to the returning kids. We practice three days a week in order to allow the kids time to get into the shape they need to be in to compete.

Dayton Calonder first place on the podium at Vail Lake.

Team fun facts?

Ken Umemoto started the team in 2014 with 11 riders. Since then, we have grown to 42 riders and eight level-three coaches.

A lot of our alumni have gone on to have successful cycling careers at the collegiate and national level.

Mountain Bike Action is a monthly magazine devoted to all things mountain biking (yes, that’s 12 times a year because we never take a month off of mountain biking). It has been around since 1986 and we’re still having fun.
