GREETINGS FROM THE GREAT WHITE NORTH
Here’s a photo from the beautiful Columbia Valley in southeast British Columbia, headwaters of the mighty Columbia River. Yes, there is more to British Columbia than the North Shore!
It shows my wife Liz and our friend Justin riding the Beauty Berm on a trail called South Park in the Mount Swansea Recreation Area, overlooking Lake Windermere near Invermere, British Columbia.

I’d call this an old-school tabletop right out of the 1970s. This is at Vail Lake Bike Park, also now known as Vailocity Bike Park, just east of Temecula, California. They have a broad mix of trails, from XC all the way to DH. The trail is called Jumpline, and this picture was taken December 31, 2021. It’s a fun trail to finish a ride on, with a whole series of jumps of various types and distances.
I live in Murrieta, 61 years old, ambassador for Intense Cycles and ride for Jax Bicycle Center. Gary Schultz took the picture. He is also an MTB rider.
Here is my pic for “Trail Mix.” It’s on trail 694A in Parco Naturale Regionale, Monti Simbruini, not far from Filettino, a little town in the province of Frosinone in the Lazio region in Italy. It’s me in the pic, and the photographer is Paolo Roberto Provenzale.

My brother caught COVID this past week, and I ended up catching it from him. Needless to say, I’m out of commission for riding right now, so I wasn’t able to go out and do some shoots for you. I was able to go through my older archives, and I found some good shots my friend took from his GoPro Hero 9 Black. My friend who took this photo is Lukas Suo-Antilla.

SNOW RIDE IN B.C.
Rider: Jennifer King
Photographer: Rob King
Sparwood, British Columbia, Canada
Bike: Black Cat painted by ex-Klein painter Dave Wilkins; 95-percent USA-made components.
Trail: Grand Ridge, about 20 miles west of Seattle, around 3 p.m. The Grand Ridge is a great trail that is open year round when most of the other trails are covered in snow. Easy to get to and an amazing workout. That day we did 13 miles and 1500 feet of climbing, but if you do the whole enchilada, it’s 18 miles and 2300 feet of climbing.
