The Ones That Got Away

images_1_replace_slorencephoto_gianttyax_1091Every year we shoot tens of thousands of photos, of which maybe 1 in 100 end up in the magazine. At the end of the year, we sometimes find that some of the best ones weren’t even used. We decided to take a look back at the photos from the past year and share some of our favorite.

images-02Racking up the wins: Aaron Gwin picked up his seventh national downhill title this summer at Mammoth Mountain. (Aaron began his almost-perfect run in 2009; he crashed and took second to Logan Binggeli in 2011.)
