RACE FACE INDY PANT REVIEW – INSEAM LENGTH OPTIONS OFFER A BETTER FIT

Pants made for riders with different leg lengths

RACE FACE INDY PANT REVIEW

Tech features:

Race Face’s Indy pants feature an adjustable ratchet front closure and an articulated pattern for an optimal fit. The nylon/spandex blend fabric is treated with a DWR coating for waterproofing. The pants also have an inside waistband silicone gripper print for extra grip and two hand pockets with locking zippers for secure storage. Laser-vented inner thigh and back of knee provide ventilation, and the pants have a zipper fly. They come in two inseam lengths—regular and tall—as well as medium-tall and large-tall sizes. These are also available in black, charcoal and clay colors.

Field test results:

Our tall, lanky test crew that often has issues with inseam length reviewed the medium-tall size and loved having the pants go all the way to the shoes. Few brands offer optional lengths, so we are happy to see this in these Race Face models. A very noticeable riding position cut also helped these become a staff favorite with superb, on-the-bike comfort. There is plenty of room at the knee for most pads. The material is on the heavier-duty side, making them less than ideal in hot conditions, but overall durability is among the best. Most testers did not love the pocket placement that put items on the front of the thighs, and the material is very loud when walking or moving off the bike, but pure function on it kept these in constant rotation.
