Sapwi Bike Park Update Phase 3
As construction of phase three is now underway, Sapwi Bike Park will be partially closed until mid-August. The new additions will include an expert jump line, modifications to the beginner and intermediate jump lines and other improvements. The jump lines will remain closed to the public during construction.
Efforts will be made to open the pump track portion of the park starting July 20, though intermittent closures may be needed to facilitate construction. “The bike park has proven extremely popular,” said Peter Sullivan, chair of the Sapwi Bike Park committee. “Every day we see dozens of kids, of all ages and skill levels, enjoying the park. It’s the only one of its kind in the area,”
Sapwi Bike Park is the product of a partnership between CORBA and the Conejo Recreation and Parks District. Over $250,000 has been raised in donations, sponsorships, grants and volunteer time to develop the park. CORBA is extremely grateful to have the support of sponsors like SRAM, Giant Bicycles, REI, Newbury Park Bike Shop and Conejo Valley Cyclists, and the hundreds of individual donors who have all helped make this possible.
