Press release:

Scotland is widely renowned for its bustling mountain bike scene, which can largely be put down to the sheer variety and outstanding quality of trails on offer for riders of all disciplines and skill levels. Being the home soil of one of SCOTT’s longtime ambassadors and well-known faces of mountain biking, there’s no rider better equipped than Scotty Laughland to dive in and discover the unique mountain biking destination of Scotland.

Scotty’s Scotland Showcase is a 6-part series that will focus on – you guessed it – 6 different regions throughout Scotland that boast some of the best mountain biking trails in the UK. What is more, this entire series will be a sustainable project, meaning that any carbon dioxide emissions resulting from the creation of this series will be accounted for and offset through initiatives such as the planting of new trees across Scotland.

Whether you’re into lung-burning scenic XC climbs, technical, hand-cut enduro trails, or blasting through rocks at warp-speed on your downhill bike, Scotty will have you covered for your next two-wheeled trip to Scotland.

Throughout the series, Scotty will put his brand-new SCOTT Spark 900 Tuned, his Ransom Tuned and his Gambler Tuned through their paces, highlighting the performance and versatility of his choice quiver of SCOTT bikes.

“Scotty’s Scotland Showcase” Ep. 1 | Perthshire will be live on Scotty Laughland’s YouTube Channel on Thursday 4th November at 5 PM CET.

Episode 1 | Hand Cut Trails in Perthshire
In Episode 1, Scotty visits Perthshire, taking us through exactly why he considers this to be one of Scotland’s premier mountain biking destinations. From bermy, trail centre flow, right through to steep and loose black-diamond enduro trails, Perthshire has got it all. It doesn’t just come down to the trails themselves though! Scotty also delves into the sustainability and community efforts that certain locations are making in order to create a welcoming mountain biking environment for locals and visitors alike. And because Scotty is well aligned with a mountain biker’s priorities, he also visits a specialty coffee roastery that keeps the shredders energized throughout the day’s fun.”My 3 favourite riding locations in Perthshire showcase the region’s diversity. Dunkeld is famous for its natural, steep and hand cut trails that are rooty and rocky. Comrie Croft is a natural trail centre offering a blue, red and black plus a skills park and the trail centre is rideable year-round. Aberfeldy is a developing bike park that offers a mix of riding, all the trails are lovingly hand built and cared for by the local riding community.”

Says Scotty: “Initially, I wanted to create a series that showcased Scotland as an MTB destination but that became two-fold with the birth of our daughter. I had my own discoveries and environmental concerns so the idea behind the series became more than just bike riding. I wanted to create it carbon negative and build a story around sustainability so the trails could be there for her and generations to come.

“As I’ll be travelling around all of Scotland in my diesel van, I’ll offset all of our journey emissions and further, the ad revenue generated will be donated to planting more trees in Scotland and the local trail associations.”
