Shimano Announces Release of “FURTHER”

It's a printed story book filled with adventurous journeys, tales of advocacy, and mountain bike experiences, enhanced by electronic assistance.

Shimano is proud to announce FURTHER, a printed story book filled with adventurous journeys, tales of advocacy, and mountain bike experiences, enhanced by electronic assistance. These stories will not only be released in a limited-edition hardcover book, but Shimano will also be releasing each story individually, every other week, on the Shimano MTB blog starting this Thursday August 12th.

About the book:

FURTHER contains a variety of mountain bike experiences, enhanced by electronic assistance. Trail builders are now better at accessing and maintaining remote trails for all of us to enjoy. World Cup downhill racers are ditching the petrol-powered shuttles and enjoying lap after lap pedaling together. Retired Olympians are scouting new trails in familiar territory to incorporate into routes for all racers. Legends who’ve been paralyzed have gotten back onto the bike and are healing mentally and physically thanks to e-MTBs.

And so, this latest technology has not emerged as a separate category, but rather the latest innovation to our beloved two-wheeled lifestyle. They are mountain bikes with a little extra oomph, built to get a little more out of the trail and bring more of us along. They are MTBs with a little extra, made to motivate us all to go further.

How do you get one?

We will be sending you (MBA) one of the limited quantity hard copies of the book before October.

Is there a digital version?

A link for the digital version of the complete book will be available Thursday November 18th.

Is this the same thing I got with a print magazine?

Alongside the full printed book, there is a 36-page mailer going out with certain print publications. Just a heads up that the mailer is not the same as the limited-edition, 116-page, hardcover book.
