SOC18 – New Litespeed Unicoi Damped Hardtail
Litespeed is known for their titanium prowess, especially in the road side of things. Today they had two new bikes on display, this being their newest Unicoi.
The Unicoi is what Litespeed is calling a “damped hardtail” with 45-millimeters of travel being controlled by two steel springs.
Litespeed is still working out the geometry but right now the bike is designed around 120mm forks with a head tube angle of 67.5-degrees. The reach is a little conservative, but production models will most likely be longer.
The frame uses a 3/2.5 titanium blend with carbon fiber chainstays. Litespeed toyed with using titanium stays, but it would add quite a bit to the cost of the frame.
This bike has Boost rear spacing and will run 27.5+ and 29-inch wheels depending on rider preference.
