Finally, we’ve gotten our hands on the long awaited SRAM trigger shifters and they look like they were worth waiting for. They should be ideal for riders who just can’t seem to get comfortable with the idea of twist shifting but want an option to Shimano. They look a little strange compared to similar shifters because of their overall size. The downshift lever pulls up instead of towards you. While it feels strange at first, you’re shifting without thinking in minutes. The pull and shape of the levers should make shifting easy for riders with smaller hands. They retail for $94 and should be compatible with any SRAM 1:1 derailleur. We’ll be testing them for cross-country and slalom in an upcoming issue, so be on the watch. Give SRAM a call to find out when they’ll be available to the public at (800) 346-2928.
