Olympic XCO champion Tom Pidcock secured his second consecutive XCO World Cup victory this year, while Australian Rebecca McConnell continued her perfect start to the women’s 2022 season with a third successive XCO win.
It looks like Nino Schurter has a serious challenger this year, as Olympic champion Thomas Pidcock looks to be the strongest racer in the men’s ranks right now. Nino needs only one more victory to surpass Julien Absalon on the all-time win list for XCO World Cups. We expect he’ll get it sooner or later, but he didn’t get it this weekend. We’ll see what happens in the next few months. Pidcock looks to be one of the toughest competitors Nino has ever faced. Meanwhile, Rebecca McConnell is looking like she’s the woman to beat this year, as she’s now won the first two World Cup XCO races of the year.
