The Exciting Showdown at Dual Slalom
The new 100% Dual Slalom track at Rotorua proved challenging as riders faced off for points for the crown. Slalom is distinctive and brings rider from a multitude of backgrounds. Downhill world champs, legends of freeride, and even enduro junkies. All eyes were set towards Jill Kintner and Kyle Straight as they both stepped closer as being crowned the Queen and King of Crankworx.
Here’s who came out on top in the head-to-head battles on this new track.
It was Canada vs. USA for the gold medal match up of Casey Brown vs. Jill Kintner. Ultimately, it was USA with the advantage as Kintner takes gold with a final advantage of +1.26 over Brown.

In the gold medal heats for the men, it was Kyle Strait that skimmed by Bas Van Steenbergen to take this heat despite a broken chain. Bas was given a +1.5 second penalty after missing a gate in the first heat. The action did not stop there as Strait almost lost it all making a mistake through the last section of jumps before the flat our turns to the finish. Strait lost a second but still took the gold medal!
