This was one of the scariest photos that MBA photographer John Ker has ever taken in nearly 30 years of mountain bike photography. This was during the World Cup race at Mont-Sainte-Anne, nearly ten years ago. Aaron Gwin came flying over the jump in the photo at high speed, heading straight for John and the other photographer (in the red sleeves), who were standing next to the course tape. John shot the photo, then jumped back as fast as possible. Gwin landed, somehow corrected his line, and swerved away from the people lining the tape. It was a close call, but we got the shot and nobody got hurt.
